Finding new Puppy Raisers for Guide Dogs
Guide Dogs rely on volunteer Puppy Raisers to look after a puppy for 12-16 months and guide them through training, socialisation, the introduction of new environments and experiences whilst providing a loving home. Puppy Raisers provide the vital foundation for the puppy;’s future role as a guide dog. Since the pandemic, the number of volunteers available to do this essential role has dropped.
Our objective was to drive prospects to the puppy-raising page of the Guide Dogs website and encourage new applications for puppy raising
Our approach was to dramatise the fact that the puppy raisers themselves play an important role in the process of becoming a guide dog. And furthermore, without them. guide dogs won’t be trained and ultimately fewer people living with sight loss will be able to lead full lives.
The results were outstanding - the national run rate for new applications increased by 327% in the first month of their campaign!
